Sea Kayak 3: The Essentials

Location:  Poulsbo, WA, United States
Starting From: US $99.00

To Book Now Click Event Date on the Calendar First.

This class is an important step in becoming a sea kayaker with the proper equipment, techniques, knowledge and abilities. In our store, we'll learn about kayak, paddle and clothing materials and sizing, chart reading and the sea kayak 10+ essentials.

Then we'll head onto Port Gamble Bay to learn and practice important strokes, including low and high braces. We'll also learn about edging, waterway rules, reading the water and much more.

We recommend taking Sea Kayak 2: Capsize Recovery or the equivalent before this class. This is the third class in the Sea Kayak 1-2-3 series. For serious paddlers who want to paddle in the San Juan Islands or other major waterways, we recommend taking the full Sea Kayak 1-5 series.

This class can be taken as a group or solo private lesson in other locations. For more information contact our program director at (360) 297-4659, 1-800-592-5983 or programs@kayakproshop.com.

More Info

"Thank you again for scheduling the Saturday outing for our group. It was wonderful, Hawk was an excellent instructor and everyone had a great time, and 4 of us would like to sign up for the SK-2 class this Thursday evening."

~Julia Atwood

"Thank you so much again for the fabulous lesson today! We all had an absolute blast. When Kendall’s mom dropped Kate off at our house this afternoon, the girls were begging us to go tomorrow. They were offering to pay for it, even! I think we’ve got some lifelong SUPers on our hands..."

~Nancy

"I actually went to the shop two weekends ago to buy the boys their wetsuits. They stocked a lot of really great equipment for my kayak building projects. It is good to know that they can order items that are not on the website as well, as I am always looking for parts that are difficult to find sometimes."

Thanks,
Karl
